Saskatchewan’s only comprehensive reproductive health care facility has a new location to serve your patients who are experiencing fertility and reproductive endocrine issues.
Aurora Reproductive Care is conveniently located in the River Landing area (River Centre) in the heart of Saskatoon. Our new expanded location offers your patients shorter wait times and improved access to fertility investigations and treatments, including in vitro fertilization.
With state-of-the-art technology, our mission is to provide your patients with the highest quality, compassionate reproductive health care possible in a comfortable, welcoming and inclusive environment.
When to Refer Your Patient to Aurora Reproductive Health Care
Please consider referring your patient to Aurora for any of the following indications:
- Under 35 years of age after 12 months of unprotected intercourse;
- Aged 35-39 after 6-12 months of unprotected intercourse;
- 40 years of age or older after no more than 6 months of unprotected intercourse;
- Immediately if there is an irregular or absent menstrual cycle, history of chemotherapy (male or female), abnormal semen analysis or if there are other conditions which may be compromising fertility; or
- Scheduled to undergo chemotherapy – both men and women will be seen on an emergent basis prior to chemotherapy to discuss fertility preservation.
No specific testing is necessary prior to referral, however, the following steps should be taken in advance of a referral:
- Counsel patient to get healthy for pregnancy (smoking cessation, healthy weight, diet and exercise, prenatal vitamin);
- Check rubella and varicella status; and
- Provide immunization if indicated.
